This is a magic area to work with as the results can be very refreshing. Several procedures are available depending upon what you wish to achieve. Usually it is the removal of excess skin (or "hoods") over the upper eye lids or, the removal of "bags" of excess fat or skin on the lower lids. For the upper lids, there is usually an incision in the upper lid crease and the excess skin, muscle and fat is removed. The incision is sutured and the sutures come out after about 5 days. If there is a lot of excess skin on the lower lids then a similar incision is made just below the eyelashes to remove it.

If fat bags are the main concern on the lower lids, then we prefer to hide the incision on the inside of the lower eyelid so there is no visible scar. All procedures are done under a light sedation or "twilight" anaesthetic as a day procedure. Recovery is up to a week, and the results should last for years.
'S-LIFT' FACE LIFT
The S-lift is essentially a mini face lift that minimises the scars to around part of the ear only, avoiding the usual facelift scars that go back onto the neck and up into the temple hair line.

There are internal stitches that anchor the neck and cheek muscles to the cheek bone. Ther are no external stitches that need removing. There are no drains. It is done as a day procedure and takes about 2 weeks to recover. If there is a lot of loose neck skin then you may be better off with a more extensive formal neck lift as the S-lift is mostly designed for the "jowls" on the jaw line.
THREAD LIFT
The Thread Lift is a procedure that offers quick results, easy recovery and a subtle lift without invasive surgery. It is a minimally invasive face-lifting procedure that involves the placement of special threads under the skin. It works best in the cheeks and if you have skin that is too loose or too thin, they are not suitable.

The best candidates for the Thread Lift are young to middle-age patients who are looking to lift their cheeks, or diminish jowl formation. It will soften nasolabial folds, as well as marionette lines. Those patients who have already experienced a face-lift may benefit from the Thread Lift to restore the waning results.
The results are not as dramatic as a surgical procedure, but it gives good results in selected cases with young or mature patients who don't want and don't need a major surgery. These individuals only want maintenance of youth or beauty and not radical rejuvenation or embellishment.
