At Rejuvenation Clinics we also offer breast implants. We do more implants than everything else put together - they are our most popular procedure. There are now many choices for implants and these choices need to be individualised for different people.
In general, it comes down to 3 main choices:
1. Do you want saline or silicone gel?
Saline is just salt water and of no consequence if it leaks. However, it tends to be firmer and doesn't feel or move quite as naturally as Silicone gel. Silicone in the gel form doesn't leak - it just sits there if the implant is cut. It is NOT the old silicon liquid that everyone was worried about before. The saline implant tends to give more trouble with rippling and leaking. They are no where near as popular as the modern cohesive gel implants.
2. Do you want the implant behind or in front of the chest muscle? Several factors influencing this decision include the thickness of the skin over your breast (and therefore over the implant), how big you want the implant, how empty your breast skin is, and how active you are etc.

3. Do you want a round or "anatomic" implant? If you have a nice shape but are just small, then a round implant is best. They also give the least trouble. If however you have had some sag and want your breasts to sit up a bit, then you may be looking at a "teardrop" shaped (anatomic) implant. However, they can frequently turn and are best avoided. Generally we can achieve the same effect with a high profile round implant without the risks of a "tear drop" implant.
